Tata Group will produce 5 lakh manufacturing jobs in the last 5 years across various sectors like Semiconductors, Electric Vehicles, Battery and related industries, N Chandrasekaran said on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
Without creating manufacturing jobs, India cannot achieve the goal of being a developed nation because to achieve a developed nation economic growth is a must and in order to achieve economic growth we need to achieve the job growth. With a large number of youth, we will make human capital for the world.
N Chandrasekaran says on Indian Foundation For Quality Management (IFQM) Symposium, “Between our (Tata Group’s) Investment in semiconductor, electric vehicles, batteries and related field, I think we will create 5 lakh manufacturing jobs in the next 5 years.
Chandrasekaran adds group’s upcoming semiconductor facility in assam and other various manufacturing units for electric vehicles and batteries, overall we are stablishing a good number of plants. Althought it is not informed but based on basic math calculatoin these types of jobs will have multiplier effects.
N Chandrasekaran anticipates according to basic math calculation that 500,000 companies – small, medium – scale companies would add in the ecosystem. He acknowledged the government’s support and stressed the need of creating jobs in the manufacturing field.
He says, “Because we cannot achieve the goals of Viksit Bharat if we cannot create the manufacturing jobs as we know 1 million people are comming to workforce every month”. N Chandradekeran further added, “we will have to generate 100 million jobs”. He asserted on the manufacturing jobs like semiconductors, for which he claimed that 8 to 10 indirect jobs are created for every inderict job.

Natarajan Chandradekaran born 2 June, 1963 is an Indian businessman and chaireman of Tata Sons and Tata group. He was Chief Operating Officer (COO) and executive director of Tata Consultancy Service (TCS) but in 2009, he became Chief Executive Office (CEO) And he was also the chairman of Tata Motors and Tata Global Beverages (TGB).He not only became the CEO of Tata companies but also he is the non-parsi and professional executive to head the Tata group.
Chandrasekaran studied in a Tamil Government school maned Moharun but later he took a Bachelore’s degree in Applied Sciences from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu. He got his Master of Computer Application (MCA) from the Regional Engineering College, Tiruchilapalli now it’s called National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli.
