The conversation starts with Sam Altman, who tweeted on X (formerly Twitter), giving an update about OpenAI’s ChatGPT4o model, describing it as ‘Pretty Good’ and Improving rapidly. Altman wrote, “we put out an update to chatgpt (4o). it is pretty good. it is soon going to get much better, team is cooking.”
Responding to the post, Aravind Srinivas, whose AI startup is gaining popularity, asked curiously, “Sorry what’s the update?”. To which Sam Altman Responded, “Among many other things, it’s the best search product on the web! Check it out and lmk what you think.”
Srinivas said while sharing his Deep Research tool’s superiority, “lol, I just mogged you yesterday, check this out:”, and shared his announcement post which said, “Excited to introduce the Perplexity Deep Research Agent: available for free to all users. Paid users only need to pay $20/mo to access an expert level researcher on any topic for 500 daily queries, and need to wait less than three minutes to get a full research report.”
To this Sam Altman praised Aravind Srinivas on his excessive achievement and wrote, “Since you nicely apologized to me in person for all the mean tweets last week, I’m going to let this go 🙂 keep cooking out there! proud of you.”
