AI vs Human: AI Will Never Replace Humans, Nandan Nilekani Says.
Nandan Nilekani co-founder of Infosys predicted that AI advancement will never replace humans’ core capabilities like empathy, leadership, and creativity. Although, it will automate tasks significantly. Nilekani argued even these skills will become valuable as the AI advances.
While talking to Moneycontro, at an AIMA event Nilekani said, “You can have all the AIs in the world, but if you can’t get five people to work together and collaborate, then you can’t go anywhere”.
Nandan Nilekani says that AI is more technical, and it will replicate or automate the whole technical task. He advocated skills like analysis or thinking AI cannot replace, learning them and mastering them will stand unique. Nilekani said, “AI is more mechanistic in its approach. Being able to go back principles and analyze something is something AI cannot do”.
Regarding job replication, he expressed a very optimistic thought. Talking to Moneycontrol, he said, “Some jobs will be affected, certain tasks will be automated-but few jobs will be entirely eliminated”. Rather he believes, “AI will make humans more productive and create new jobs we haven’t even thought of yet”.

He predicted a significant growth in AI in the coming year. “The government is focused on the India AI mission and I think we will see in the next year, some very significant models coming from India, “He stated.
Nilekani Emphasized a Practical Solution AI.
Nilekani in the conversation emphasized a practical solution for AI development in India. He stated, ” India has shortages of teachers, doctors, and skilled workers. AI can amplify human capabilities, making education and healthcare more accessible. It all depends on how you architect it—AI can be extractive (where a few control all the data and profit from it) or inclusive (where it benefits everyone). DPI is fundamentally about inclusion at scale, and AI should be too”.
DeepSeek Exposed AI’s Cost Effectiveness.
He exclaimed no need for massive investment to create AI. The barrier to creating AI, decreased significantly, as DeepSeek exposed it in front of the World by making AI that doesn’t only indicate a less investment AI, but also an effective AI competing with topnotch AIs worldwide. This clarifies that India can generate its own AI, without massive investment.
