Infosys founder Narayan Murthy recently bought its second most expensive and luxurious apartment in Banglore. This apartment was purchased for Rs 50 Crore in Bengaluru’s Kingfisher Tower, which was once the residence of Vijay Mallya.

Narayan Murthy paid Rs 50 Crore to buy an apartment in Kingfishers‘ Tower. The 8,400 square foot unit on the 16th floor includes four bedrooms and five dedicated car parking. Narayan Murthy’s wife, author Sudha Murthy purchased an apartment in the tower for Rs 29 Crore four years back, According to TOI.
According to a report by the Times of India said that this deal was set for Rs 59,500 per square foot, which is the highest rate in the city. The Kingfisher Tower is a 34-storey luxurious residential complex with around 81 units (4BHK) starting at 8000 square feet spread across three buildings built on 4.5 acres of land.
Kingfisher Tower is built on land, which was Vijay Mallya’s ancestral home, which was built in a partnership between the prestigious group and Vijay Mallya’s company in 2010. According to reports, the other prominent residents include Biocon’s Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Karnataka Minister KJ George’s son, Rana George.

Narayan Murthy’s Rs 50 Crore transaction for apartment purchasing to Kingfisher Tower didn’t go well for internet users and Murthy’s followers. They condemned this purchase on their social handles with harsh words raising questions about Murthy’s simplicity promises.
“Bro wasted 3 hours for registering the property so he will only clock 67 hours of work in the week,” a user wrote on X.
“Infosys employees are instructed to work +10 more hours so that Mr. Narayan Murthy can buy one more flat in King Fisher Tower for his grandchild,” commented another user.
“Narayana Murthy buys Rs 50 cr luxury apartment in Bengaluru’s Kingfisher Towers. He was the same person who was preaching simplicity, compassionate capitalism, and he wants people to work for 70 hours/week,” wrote another social media user.
“Narayan Murthy has been living a life of luxury for decades because he treats his employees as slaves by paying less and making them work for 70 hrs a week. 50 crore flat is the new symbol of simplicity!”, criticized another user on X.
“Brahmin Narayan Murthy wants to enslave the common people of the country, and wants to make people of his caste officers. Mr Narayan Murthy, this country is run by the Constitution and not by Manusmriti, your intentions are not good for the country”, The Dalit Voice named Social Handle criticized.
