Food and grocery delivery giant Swiggy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cooperation Ministry. As per the report, this deal aims to onboard cooperative products, including organic produce, dairy goods, millet, and more, on the e-commerce and quick commerce platform of Swiggy.

This deal was signed in the presence of Swiggy Instamart CEO Amitesh Jha and DK Verma, Joint Secretary of the ministry, with cooperation secretary Ashish Kumar Bhutani, who was present at the ceremony. This partnership is determined to support cooperative brands in the areas of Marketing, Promotion, Consumer Technology, and Capacity Building.

The Ministry of Cooperation said in a statement on Saturday, “The signing of the MoU will facilitate cooperatives to connect to new-age consumers through new-age technologies.”

The Ministry of Cooperation further clarified that with the MoU signed, products under Bharat Organics and other Cooperative Dairy products will now be available on Swiggy’s e-commerce and quick commerce platforms.

As this deal is signed, food delivery platform Swiggy will dedicate a category page “Cooperative” on its platform, aiming to onboard cooperative products such as Organic Produce, Dairy goods, Millet, Traditional Handicrafts, and more.

As per NewsX, this move will enhance the visibility of Cooperative entities and allow them to connect with a broader, digitally active consumer base.

2025: An International Year of Cooperation.

The ministry said in a statement that as the United Nations’ has declared 2025 as the International Year of Cooperation, Swiggy, in collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperation, plans to promote cooperative movements, organizations, and products across the country with Awareness Campaigns.

Even the ministry has taken many initiatives to provide access to the market to cooperative produce, including organic produce from the cooperative sector.

The Economic Times reported that a day earlier, the cooperation secretary inaugurated a state-of-the-art packaging facility for National Cooperative Organics Limited in Noida, focused on packaging pulses and organic food products.
