According to this report, once again, Biryani was the highest-ordered food in India by 2024.
More than 9 crore Biryani orders were delivered by Zomato this year in 2024, which came to more than three Biryani orders every second during this year. Besides India’s food order behavior, statistics revealed interesting events on dining out.
As per Zomato, A food lover of Bengaluru spent a big amount of money in a single order on a restaurant visit. This amount calculates to Rs 5,13,733 on a single bill. This shows the dedication of Indians toward food.
Over 1 crore or more exact 1,25,55,417 tables were reserved by Indians through Zomato between the time period of January 1 and December 6, 2024. If talk the busiest day of the year, was Father’s Day when 84,866 people invite their fathers to a beautiful feast or dinner.
Following city-specific data, Delhi stands first in this race of foodies, where Delhiites saved Rs 195 crore on their dining out bills through Zomato! Bengaluru and Mumbai also performed the best, but could not beat New Delhi in terms of saving dining out bills.
According to the Zomato data Biryani again secured the most beloved dish of the year 2024 as usual. Customers ordered a staggering number of 9,13,99,110 plates of Biryani on Zomato. Not only did Zomato report high orders of rice dish but also Swiggy saw a staggering order of Biryani.
The most ordered dish after Biryani was Pizza, where customers ordered Pizza aggregating to 5 crore. When it comes to beverages in India, so no other fancy products can beat India’s life tea. In the list tea is the most loved and ordered beverage, was orders 77,76,725 tea, compared to the Coffee ordered only 74,32,856 times in 2024.
