This Swiggy Girl Shares “The Most ‘HATED’ Part of Being Swiggy Girl”, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Has Also Revealed This.

A lady from Kerala named Amrita, who balances her studies with a part-time job as a Swiggy delivery girl, shares a video on her Instagram ID named Amriithah explaining ‘the most hated part of being a Swiggy girl’. Even Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal addressed this issue while visiting the malls with his wife Grecia Munoz. Let’s understand what the matter is.

Swiggy Girl shares the most hated part of her job.

A Swiggy delivery girl named Amrita shares her frustration in a video on Instagram caused by the Keral’s big malls to delivery agents. She starts with the hardest and most hated part, explaining, “The minimum amount we are getting paid for a distance of around 5km is just ₹25.

She further explains in the video, “When it comes to the turn to take orders from the malls, we have to park our vehicles in a separate parking slot which are there, and then take the service lift, get to the food court, and walk to the shop from where we have to get the order”.

Then Amrita says, “There is no extra allowance for these types of orders. We almost lose 10 to 20 minutes just to take those orders in our control, and even after taking the orders we have to take the normal exit which is also crowded normally”.

Facing all these types of issues Amrita provides 2 solutions from her side to the management in the video, She says, “Why the malls can’t collect the orders to the lower level to make our job easier?” Or “Why we are not getting extra paid?”. After watching this video, the users had a very nice conversation in the comments. Let’s take a look!

Social Media user’s take on this

Users have both criticizing and supporting comments about this girl’s issue raised in the video.

One user wrote, “Sadly all businesses are run with only the motive of maximum profit. Are employees ever happy with workspaces, work timings, salary, or boss?“While another wrote, “Be strong independent women and try to live the way men loved every day”. Even one user wrote, “That’s called doing your job. If you can’t do it then just quit”.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal addresses the same issue.

These are not the challenges that Amrita is only reporting. Recently, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal addressed the same experience while working undercover as a delivery agent. Deepinder and his wife Grecia Munoz set out to understand the hurdles and challenges faced by the delivery partners, wearing Zomato’s delivery uniform.

During an order at Gurgaon’s Ambiance Mall, Goyal’s entry was denied by the security guard, and was suggested to take the stairs. Climbing the three courts to the restaurant, he finds out that delivery agents are often found to sit on the floor, as they weren’t permitted to wait inside.

In a video, Deepinder Goyal clarified, “During my second order, I realized that we need to work more closely with the malls to improve the working conditions for all the delivery partners. And even malls also need to be more humane to the delivery partners.” As the video went viral, Ambiance Mall’s management reached out to Zomato, promising to address the issue and to resolve it. They later announced the creation of a comfortable pick point for delivery executives.

Both stories suggest a required change in the system of malls and provide convenience to all the delivery agents.
