Late last year, SpaceX CEO made a ‘Wikipedia Request’ to his extensive followers. Under this request, the CEO called upon all his followers to stop funding the Wikipedia Foundation, the nonprofit organization behind Wikipedia. He is concerned about Wikipedia’s spending on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

“Stop donating to Wokepedia until they restore balance to their editing authority,” he wrote on Twitter in response to a post from the ‘Libs of TikTok’ account that featured a pie chart indicating that 29% of Wikipedia’s $177 million budget for 2023–2024 went toward “equity” and “safety & inclusion.”

Musk not only interfered in funding Wikipedia stopping his vast following, but also made fun of Wikipedia’s financing request from individuals. An X user named ‘Piet’, shared a post on X, with an image of a man with a ‘Wikipedia Head’ with a comment which read, “Wikipedia when I open a page on their website, it asks for financial assistance.”

Elon Musk responded to this post and made fun of Wikipedia. His comment read, “Every Time”, and with a fun emoji, at the end of the statement.
